The article analyzes affixal morphemes of the simple future tense of the verb of the Avar language. Peculiarities of combination of categorical affixal morphemes of the verb are the need for a connective vowel in cases when the root morpheme has a consonant auslaut and affixal morpheme has a consonant anlaut. In such cases, the connecting function is performed by thematic vowels. The peculiarity of the simple future tense forms is that they all have the same thematic vowel - i -, as the corresponding infinitive forms do. The use of the thematic vowel infinitive - i - for the future tense forms seems to be due to the semantic proximity of the infinitive and the Futurum.
