The journal «Herald of the Daghestan Scientific Center» is published by the decision of the Presidium of the Daghestan Scientific Center (now Daghestan Federal Research Centre) of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1998.
Journal is registered by the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Mass Communications.
Registration number ПИ N ФС77-77770 from February 10, 2020.
ISSN 1684-792X.

We accept for publication scientific articles previously unpublished and not submitted for publication elsewhere.
The decision about the publication of the article is accepted by the Editorial Board of the journal under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief.
All articles undergo a mandatory review process and are checked for the presence of illegal borrowings using the "Anti-Plagiarism" system.
Publication is free of charge.
All articles of the journal have a DOI index registered in the CrossRef system.
The journal is indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index.



REGULATION
ON THE ORDER OF REVIEWING MANUSCRIPTS
SUBMITTED FOR PUBLISHING IN THE BULLETIN
“HERALD OF DAGESTAN SCIENTIFIC CENTER”
 
1. General provisions

1.1. The journal “Herald of the Daghestan Scientific Center” publishes articles on the following scientific specialties*:
Biological Sciences: 1.5.12. Zoology; 1.5.13. Ichthyology; 1.5.15. Ecology; 1.5.16. Hydrobiology; 1.5.19. Soil Science; 1.5.20. Biological Resources;
Historical Sciences: 5.6.1. National History; 5.6.3. Archeology; 5.6.4. Ethnology, Anthropology and Ethnography;
Philology: 5.9.5. Russian Language. Languages of the Peoples of Russia; 5.9.8. Theoretical, Applied and Comparative Linguistics.


* The specialties are indicated in accordance with the nomenclature of scientific specialties approved by Order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation N 118 of 24.02.2021 “On approval of the nomenclature of scientific specialties for which scientific degrees are awarded, and amending the Regulation on the Council for thesis defense for the degree of candidate of science, for the degree of doctor of science, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 10 November 2017 N 1093”.

1.2. Scientific articles previously never published or submitted to publication in other journals are subject to publication.
1.3. The submitted manuscripts of articles are undergone primary checkup on the completeness and formalization in accordance with the Rules of submission of articles sent to the journal “Herald of the Daghestan Scientific Center”, posted on the journal's website (For authors).


2. Organization of article manuscripts reviewing


2.1. Manuscripts, received by the Editorial Board of the journal “Herald of the Daghestan Scientific Center”, are subject to mandatory review by the Editorial Board with the purpose of their expert evaluation.
2.2. Chief Editor or deputy editor sends the received manuscripts to the Editorial Board members who are in charge of the relevant research areas for scientific examination.
2.3. Members of the Editorial Board, if necessary, may direct the manuscripts for review to independent experts – specialists of the relevant scientific profile.
2.4. All the reviewers are recognized experts in the field of knowledge, to which the content of the article relates, and have had scientific publications on the subject of the article under review in the last 3 years.
2.5. The reviewers are notified that the manuscripts of the submitted articles are the intellectual property of the authors. The reviewers are not allowed to make copies of the articles.
2.6. The expertise is confidential; the review is available to the author at his request without signatures, names, positions, work places of the reviewers.
2.7. In case of disagreement with the opinion of the reviewer, the author has the right to submit a reasoned response to the journal. The article can be directed to re-review or to approval by the Editorial Board.
2.8. Final decision on the acceptance of the article for publication after reviewing is taken by the Editorial Board on the basis of the reviews and the opinion of the member of the Editorial Board in charge of the relevant scientific branch.
2.9. The Editorial Board of the journal informs the author about the decision taken by the Editorial Board and sends him copies of the reviews.
2.10. In case of rejection of the article, the Editorial Board sends the author a reasoned refusal.
2.11. The original reviews of manuscripts of the articles are kept in the editorial office of the journal for 5 years.
2.12. Copies of the reviews are sent by the editorial office to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receiving of the corresponding request.
2.13. To publish articles of postgraduates and applicants for the scientific degree of the candidate of sciences, the Editorial Board of the journal is entitled to additionally request the review from the scientific supervisor that does not exclude the approved review procedure.


3. Requirements to the review content


3.1. Review should include a qualified analysis of the article material, its objective assessment and reasoned recommendations.
3.2. Review can be arranged by a reviewer in the free form.
3.3. Review should include: assessment of theoretical and applied significance of the study, of scientific novelty; analysis of main strengths and weaknesses of the structure and methodology of the study; constructive evaluation of the quality of the author’s interpretation of the of the research results; strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript as a written report; assessment of feasibility of spacing tables, illustrative material in the article; indication of the author’s inaccuracies and errors; recommendations on improvements of the article to the author; reviewer’s conclusions on the feasibility of the article to be published.
3.4. The reviewer’s comments to the article, remarks and suggestions should be constructive and professional, made properly, in compliance with scientific ethics.
3.5. The reviewer may recommend an article for publication, recommend it for publication after correction (including comments), after re-review, or not to recommend the article for publication. If the reviewer recommends an article to be published in final form or does not recommend it, in the review must be indicated the specific reasons for such a decision.
3.6. For re-review after amendments the article is handed to the same reviewer. It can be given to another reviewer by decision of the board members.
