The article explores the conceptual field of one of the universal emotional concepts of the Avar language – the "namus" concept. The choice of paremiological units to reveal the specifics of the language picture of the world of the Avar ethnic group is due to the fact that Proverbs act as a repository of cultural traditions; they most clearly reflect national and cultural stereotypes and values. Attention is also drawn to the specificity of the syntactic structure of the proverb and the artistic means used to enhance the expressiveness of Proverbs.
