The paper presents a review of the history of study of the causative formation and inflection in Lak. The contributions of the particular researchers of Lak grammar to the study of the causative formation depending on the grammatical meaning are described. The descriptions of causative formation by P.K. Uslar, G.B. Murkelinski, A.A. Magometov, R.G. Eldarova, K.I. Kazenin and other scholars have been analyzed.
