WOMEN'S EVERYDAY LIFE IN DAGHESTAN IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - EARLY ХХ СENTURY IN ITS ORDINARY SENSE. FROM WINTER TO WINTER

DALGAT Elmira Murtuzalievna

The article examines women's everyday life in Daghestan in its ordinary sense in the second half of the XIX - early ХХ century. This is a special stage in the life of the peoples of Daghestan. After the end of the Caucasian War, Daghestan became part of the Russian Empire. The reforms carried out by Russia in Daghestan contributed to changes in various areas of life - socio-economic, cultural, etc. To a lesser extent, the changes affected the traditional way of life which had developed long before and was associated with harsh natural and climatic conditions when hard work of men and women was necessary for survival. The article shows that the division of labor responsibilities into male and female in Daghestan also occurred in the case of special historical conditions - a man had to defend his home and village from conquerors who came to Daghestan, located on the international trade route along the Caspian Sea. The article shows numerous responsibilities that fell on women's shoulders: agricultural work, housekeeping and numerous crafts. The article examines in detail the trades for processing wool and making from it cloths, carpets, felts, etc. It is noted that wool products made by Daghestan women were highly valued throughout the Caucasus. The author concludes that if to sum up women's and men's crafts, then the advantage will be on the side of female labor. And female labor predominated in the field works. Despite the changed historical conditions - Daghestan, having become part of the Russian Empire, ceased to be the target of attack - the distribution of male and female labor responsibilities did not change and remained archaic.
