The process of organizing new research institutes within the framework of the Daghestan Scientific Center is considered. Based on the example of the development of the DNC - the regional division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the accumulated research experience and achievements of historians, philologists, physicists, geologists, economists, biologists, etc. are considered. The development of scientific knowledge is analyzed; the problems in this area are shown, primarily related to the underfunding of the industry. The publishing activities of the institutes are noted, the most significant scientific works published in the 90s of the twentieth century are named, the expansion of international cooperation in a number of scientific areas, scientific conferences and expeditions are shown. A brief description is given of the process of training scientific personnel at the DNC of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the personnel problems of the team.
