FORMATION OF THE KUMYK LANGUAGE TERMINOLOGY IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIOPOLITICAL FACTOR

ABDULLABEKOVA Umsalimat B.

The article deals with the genesis of the terminology system of the Kumyk language under the influence of the sociopolitical factor. There are four periods in the history of the term formation in the Kumyk language, each of which is characterized by its own features in the context of the relationship between the development of society and language. The pre-revolutionary period of the development of the Kumyk language is characterized by writing in Ajam. In this period there are no terminological dictionaries, but there are some works which have signs of birth of terminological vocabulary. In the prewar Soviet period, the intensification of the process of introducing new terms into the language system of the Kumyk language begins. The tasks of forming a new national system and ensuring effective communication processes within the country determined the direction of development of the terminology of the Kumyk language. In 1928, the Kumyk language switched from Ajam to the Latin script. In 1932-1933 compulsory primary general education was introduced in the regions of Daghestan, as a result, textbooks on the native languages and small terminological dictionaries are published in Latin. In 1938, the alphabet switches to Cyrillic. From 1938, schools began to gradually switch to the Russian language of instruction, leaving the native language as a subject of study, and textbooks in Cyrillic began to be published. All these processes affect the terminological vocabulary, its modification, and change. In the post-war Soviet period in 1958-1964 an education reform was carried out, the principle of minimal discrepancies in the relevant terms between the literary languages of the peoples of the USSR was implemented. Scientific sessions were held to normalize terminological dictionaries. In the post-Soviet period, the Russian-Kumyk terminological dictionary is published.
