ABOUT TWO UNIVERSAL CATEGORIES IN FOUR LANGUAGES (REVIEW OF THE BOOK: IBRAGIMOVA M.O. THE CLASS AND NUMBER CATEGORIES IN THE RUTUL, TSAKHUR AND SHAHDAG LANGUAGES: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

The monograph under review is devoted to the comparative analysis of the lexical-grammatical category of class and the grammatical category of number on the material of the Rutul, Tsakhur and Shahdag languages, where their general properties are explicitly presented and specific features, formed with the development of these languages in different conditions and directions, are identified. The author has been able to use the rich factual material to determine the pre-Lezgin heritage in the areas under study; distinguish between genetic and areal features of the inventory of the morphological and lexical means of expressing the categories of class and number; to trace trends in the dynamics of development of the studied categories in the four languages of the Lezgin group.
