WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTHCARE IN DAGHESTAN IN THE 1950s: RESULTS AND PROSPECTS FOR DEVELOPMENT

In the modern world, the study of the development of healthcare as one of the most important forms of social life, the study of its historical stages of formation and development is quite relevant. Referring to the historical experience of the development of medicine in a particular region in the 1950s, where the state health system appeared only in the twentieth century, will allow today to assess the positive results in protecting public health in the past and use positive experience in the present. In order to achieve the goal, the task is formulated to highlight the methods of state policy in the field of medical care in the republic with a focus on the gender features of this area. The article pays special attention to the activities of medical workers, especially female doctors, their active medical work in healthcare institutions of the republic. When writing the article, the author used an important methodological principle of cognition of the historical process, which includes the principles of scientific objectivity and historicism and determines the methods of research: general scientific research methods, in particular analysis, synthesis and systematization, as well as traditional methods of scientific cognition in historical science - comparative historical, statistical, etc. The use of these methods allowed the author to consistently trace the dynamics and directions of health care development in Daghestan, to consider events and phenomena in the context of a specific historical situation. Analyzing documentary sources and special scientific researches on this topic, conclusion can be made that the question is not sufficiently studied. Today there are no generalizing works on the organization of medical care for the population of the republic, taking into account the gender component in the specified chronological period. It would be important to note that in the 1950s, despite the fact that serious attention was paid by the state to the development of healthcare and the representation of women in this profession, it is impossible to talk about an equal ratio between male and female doctors during this period.
