In the socio-economic crisis accompanied by a decline in living standards, deterioration of working conditions and health of the population, including working population, the social status and health of working women deserve special attention. One of the current and most important problems is influence of the working environment and the labor process on female body. The article examines the disastrous situation in the labour protection caused by a complex of reasons among which were imperfect technology, moral and physical deterioration of equipment, non-compliance of the labour conditions with the requirements of hygienic norms established in the interests of people, non-observance the labor legislation in the difficult period of the 90s of the ХХ century.
