The subject of the research is the children's gaming traditions of the peoples of Daghestan and influence on their existence and development of the "local" natural, ethnic, historical context. Those were folk games, while preserving collective forms of activity that had a certain impact on the upbringing and socialization of adolescents and strengthened ties between generations. Immersion into the world of the folk games, analysis of children's games among the peoples of Daghestan show that some of them contain separate components of material and spiritual culture "preserved" by time, and the plots of most of them are fairly complete reproductions of the phenomena of economic life, social and family life, ritual actions, etc. In the traditions of gaming culture, a careful attitude to nature was developed, norms and rules of relationships with people were adopted, the ability to social attraction, competitiveness, initiative, the ability to adapt to realities of life were generated. Despite the priority of the explicit educational factor in children's games, special attention was paid to sports games in the gaming culture, mainly for boys, which contributed to the formation of human physical qualities. The novelty of the tasks solved in the article lies in the fact that an attempt is made to expertly use the significant field literary material about Daghestan folk games and gaming activities to identify certain disappeared elements of the traditional culture of the peoples of Daghestan, which have recently been practically inaccessible for fixation. A variety of games, entertainments, sometimes dating back to ancient times in terms of content and actions, but still, thanks to folk memory, capable of resuscitation, are an integral part of our cultural heritage, the realization of the value of which is currently taking place, despite the fact that the game is a holistic and rather closed world for adults.
