This article examines somatic phraseological units with the components “ maz” and “ Zunge ” in typologically different and genetically unrelated languages - the Lak and the German. A description of the semantic content of phraseological units with these components is given. The purpose of the study is to identify common and different semantic content of phraseological units with somatism components “ maz ” and “ Zunge ” in the Lak and German languages. The stated goal involves solving the following tasks: 1) explore the semantics of phraseological units with somatism components “ maz ” and “ Zunge ”; 2) identify the general and specific in the linguistic means under study. The research material is SFU (somatic phraseological units) with the components “ maz ” and “ Zunge ”, selected by a continuous sampling method from lexicological sources of the Lak and German languages. The research methods are the actual linguistic methods of description, comparison and the method of lexical-semantic analysis.
