ECOLOGICAL SAPROBILITY OF THE CASPIAN SEA AND THE VOLGA RIVER
The main and common indicator species of phytoplankton of the Northern, Middle Caspian and the Volga River sections have been identified. The analysis has established the identity of the marine areas and their differences from the river waters. As a result of the study, changes in saprobility indicators in the studied waters have been recorded over a number of years which contributes to high-quality environmental monitoring of the Caspian Sea as an important facility for the economy of the Caspian region.
