The emerge of big data and computing power have opened up new opportunities for the use of large-scale textual sources in sociological researches. Recent works in the field of sociology of culture, science, and economic sociology have shown how quantitative text mining can be used to construct and verify sociological theories. This article discusses quantitative methods used in modern researches: semantic and neural network analysis, language models, machine learning and how they can help sociologists solve various analytical problems.
