INFLUENCE OF URBANIZATION ON THE SPECIES STRUCTURE OF RODENT POPULATION IN THE TALOVSKY FOREST OF KIZLYAR

OMAROV Kamil Zubairovich,
MAGOMEDOV Magomed Magomedrasulovich

On the example of the Talovsky Forest near the city of Kizlyar, the influence of urbanization consequences on individual species and on the overall species structure of the rodent population is demonstrated. Synanthropes (house mouse) in the Talovsky Forest have the status of absolute dominants, while aboriginal species (steppe mouse) and specialized forest species (forest dormouse) transition to the status of co-dominants or secondary species. A consequence of this is the formation of a monodominant community structure in the Talovsky Forest and a 1.4-fold increase in the total rodent abundance. The most important consequence of urbanization for rodents in the Talovsky Forest is the process of recreational depression. Despite the uneven impact of urbanization, processes of recreational depression in the rodent community in the Talovsky Forest start at the initial stages of environmental changes, and with more intensive loads, the indicative responses of the rodent population become more pronounced.
