The article characterizes a rare type of tool - scrapers with a specialized blade. These implements are distinguished by the presence of a deliberately shaped narrow projection featuring a finished working edge at its end. The discussed artifacts originate from a layer situated in the upper part of the deposits at the Mukhkai 1 site and are dated to approximately 1 million years ago. The absence of direct analogues for these items in other Early Pleistocene industries suggests that this tool type may be specific to the Central Daghestan lithic assemblage during the transitional period from the Oldowan to the Early Acheulean.
