The article is devoted to the historiographic analysis of the information of the German scientist, doctor of medicine Jacob Reineggs, about the occupations of the peoples of Daghestan. This information shows that the peoples of Daghestan were engaged in all sectors of the economy, the development and prevalence of which depended on the local natural geographic and soil-climatic conditions.
