THE CONTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARS FROM THE INSTITUTE OF HISTORY, ARCHAEOLOGY AND ETHNOGRAPHY (DAGHESTAN FEDERAL RESEARCH CENTER, RAS) TO THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR (1945-2025): KEY STAGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The article examines the research conducted by scholars from the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Daghestan Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences / the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Daghestan Scientific Center / Daghestan Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It focuses on their work in preparing monographs, generalizing studies, collections of documents, materials, memoirs, and articles devoted to significant events of the Great Patriotic War period. The history of studying the Great Patriotic War in Daghestan is presented. The process of compiling document collections from the holdings of the Central State Archive of the Republic of Daghestan is characterized in chronological order. The significance of these published collections is highlighted, as they enable a comprehensive study of the political, socio-economic, and socio-cultural history of the Daghestan ASSR during the war years. The authors and compilers of scholarly works dedicated to the years of unparalleled courage and labor heroism are identified. The Institute's role in organizing scholarly forums on the role of the Caucasus and Daghestan during the war is also noted.
