CONVENTIONAL COMMUNICATION AMONG THE PEOPLES OF DAGHESTAN IN EVERYDAY AND RITUAL LIFE DURING THE SOVIET AND POST-SOVIET PERIODS

The article analyzes traditional stereotypical formulas of greeting and farewell in everyday life and in life-cycle rituals (weddings, congratulations on the birth of a child, funerals), as well as the related situational well-wishes and curses among the peoples of Daghestan. Their existence during the Soviet era and the post-Soviet period is traced. The ethnographic aspect of stable, constant forms that convey information about the age, gender, and social status of the communicants is examined. It is established that conventional and conditional communication among the peoples of Daghestan from the second half of the XX century to the early XXI century largely retained traditional forms. However, the communicative behavior of young people underwent significant transformation through the incorporation of modern slang.
