Sakha (Yakut) youth constitute the most dynamic social group in the republic, yet they have not been the subject of a dedicated sociolinguistic study. In the context of urbanization, it is young people who face the greatest influence of linguistic and external social factors. The aim of the research is to analyze cases of code-switching in the speech of contemporary Sakha (Yakut) people in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), with particular attention paid to the analysis of interference phenomena in their Sakha (Yakut) language speech. The analysis is based on the results of a sociolinguistic survey conducted in the multi-ethnic city of Yakutsk and the mono-ethnic, Sakha-speaking Churapchinsky District in 2023. The study confirmed that the most frequent interference phenomena in the speech of Sakha (Yakut) youth are intra-sentential switches (actual insertions) and inter-sentential switches.
