HISTORICAL NOVEL IN THE POST-SOVIET KUMYK LITERATURE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF B.. ATAEV’S NOVELS)

The article examines the ways of development of the historical novel, its evolution in the post-Soviet period. Based on the work of the famous Kumyk writer B. Ataev (1925-2007), the author characterizes the socio-cultural factors, caused the enhancement of the historical themes in the literature of the post-Soviet period. Besides that, the author identifies the dominant features of the novels by the Kumyk writer.
