LEISURE PRACTICE OF THE RURAL POPULATION OF DAGHESTAN IN THE 1970s

AMIRKHANOVA Madina Magomedovna

Leisure is an important component of a person's daily life. The purpose of the article is to show a variety of leisure activities for rural residents, to characterize the positive and negative sides in its organization. The analysis of a complex of diverse sources makes it possible to objectively assess the state of the material and technical base of the cultural life of the Daghestan village. During the period under review, rural residents had a variety of leisure activities. Club institutions, libraries, museums, mass media, and sports facilities played an important role in its organization. The villagers were also actively engaged in artistic and technical creativity. Despite a slight increase in capital investments in this area, leisure practice was not without certain drawbacks. The conclusion is that, to a greater extent, the cultural sphere was provided according to the residual principle. The network of libraries, club and sports facilities was insufficiently developed. Leisure activities of residents in remote settlements were especially poorly organized.
