SOCIOLINGUISTIC CHARACTERISTICS TAT LANGUAGE IN DAGHESTAN

The article provides information on the Tat language in the sociolinguistic aspect, which provides information about the language’s belonging to a particular family or group of languages, social status, distribution area, number of speakers, information about dialect differentiation, and a brief overview of the features of sound structure and grammar and vocabulary. Quantitative parameters of residence of representatives of the Tat ethnic group in Daghestan are indicated, the number of native language proficiency is given, and the specifics of the functioning of the Tat language in this region are characterized.
