PROBLEMS OF CHOOSING A BASIC DIALECT AND GRAPHIC BASIS FOR THE LITERARY LANGUAGES OF DAGHESTAN
The relevance of the article is due to the lack of special sociological research on the spheres and scales of functioning of the Daghestan languages and forecasting of linguistic processes in the republic. The scientific novelty is in clarifying the features of the modern functioning of the national languages of Daghestan on the basis of the latest data obtained during the conducted sociolinguistic research. This kind of information is necessary in the strategic planning of language policy in the region and in the Russian Federation as a whole. The purpose of the study is to determine the prospects for the development of national languages in the Republic of Daghestan based on monitoring the sociolinguistic characteristics of the population of this region, formed in a multilingual area.
